Description

This early 16th-century timber-framed building overlooks and dominates the town’s market place. Inside are exhibitions on local history, farming and industry, as well as the story of the medieval woollen cloth trade. There is also an attractive walled garden with dye plants, and 19th-century lock-up and mortuary.

6th - 28th March: Wednesday - Sunday, 11 am - 4 pm
29th March - 31st October: daily, 11 am - 5 pm
6th - 28th November: Saturday & Sunday, 11 am - 4 pm

Shop:
9th January - 28th February & 6th March - 31st Ocotober: Saturday & Sunday, 11 am - 4 pm

Tearoom:
6th March - 31st October: As Guildhall
6th November - 19th December: Saturday & Sunday, 11 am - 4 pm
Open Bank Holiday Monday, closed Good Friday. Parts of the building may be closed occasionally for community use
